at least I don't know it from persian, which has the loan qasr from
arabic qaSr (so spelled in persian) meaning "palace, fort". this in
turn is probably a loan from gaeco-latin (castrum, kastron). of course
the proto-bulgarian word may have been a loan from "kastron" itself,
why not in a christian context? besides temples are already holy! this
would take the redundancy off the word.
